Our members are dedicated to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids" and to do our part by supporting community activities and service projects which provide a positive role model to children and youth throughout the Welland and Pelham area. When a need arises in our community the Welland Optimist Club is ready to offer help.
Our club members are Optimists and we strive to live up to the name, and maintain an upbeat attitude, which we try to pass along to the children we serve. The words of The Optimist Creed are well known to our Optimists and it gives each member a focus for personal improvement as we work to better the world around us.

We donated $1,000 for assistance programs to the elementary schools in Welland.

Welland Optimists donates $10,000 to Pathstone Foundation

Pathstone Foundation exists to support the work of Pathstone Mental Health, providing funding that supports services like our Hear & Now Walk-in Clinic and projects like our Mountainview Natural Playground & Healing Garden, designed to enhance therapy. Donations also help reduce the wait list, support research and strengthen a child’s experience at Pathstone.

Our volunteers provided a free Family Day skate in Welland on February 21st, 2022

Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out to this very well attended event.
We talked to hundreds of families who were not only pleased with the free hotdog / fries and drink we provided but what amazing work we do in our community. A visit from Sgt Carter and Councillor Chiocchio acknowledged our efforts.
Recent Donations: City of Welland Recreation’s Summer Camp, Niagara Sexual Assault Center, 9th Welland Scout Troop, Huntington’s Society of Niagara Marathon, Welland 2021 Food Drive - $1500. |
